Conscious Awareness: The Trinity of Trouble

Fear, Doubt and Worry: Are the enemies of every deeply held dream, of every good intention made, of each vision we hold for ourselves that has not yet become our reality. Who among us has not succumbed at some time to this invisible trinity of trouble?

In this brave new world we are facing today, with climatic, political and economic chaos all around, it can be the most natural thing in the world to give in to these feelings of fear, doubt and worry. It can seem impossible not let this trinity of trouble have its full head of power in our lives.

  • Our minds can be our dearest friend and our worst enemy. As we go about our daily business, the mind can fill our heads and our hearts with doubts about our deservedness to receive that which we intend for ourselves.
  • Thoughts around our ability to pull off such a task, doubts around the resources we need becoming available or fear of failure (or success) can dull our energy, causing us to stumble in our progress towards that which will undoubtedly come to us if we just hold firmly to our vision and commitment to it.

Everywhere we look right now we see trouble, confusion, dissent, aggression, pain and suffering – even the Earth seems hell bent on making our lives more difficult with drought, flood, storms and the threat of earthquake and eruption being reported by the media on a constant basis. No wonder people are feeling shaken.

When you become a being of Conscious Awareness you know too that for each event in our lives there is a balancing energy present. We may have to seek it out but we know without a doubt that it is there. The media don’t pick it up because it’s often not dramatic enough, people don’t gossip about it very often because its not ‘gut wrenching’ or gritty enough but that doesn’t mean it’s not there.

The internet is full of stories (true or imagined) of great feats of kindness, of loving actions, of small miracles.

These stories spread across the net of our existence with fire like rapidity, filling a need for access to this energy of kindness, love, gratitude and hope. But this is merely a scratch upon the surface of the reality of which I speak. You can find your own sources to use as an antidote to fear, doubt and worry and when you discover them for yourself you can cultivate them, share them and plant the seeds of Love, Gratitude, Kindness and Hope in the lives of others.

Ways to discover and then cultivate these balancing forces in your life and then spread them throughout your family, friends, community and ultimately across our entire planet are many, however I can recommend meditation as a way to find the space to allow the seeds of Love, Gratitude, Kindness and Hope to germinate within you.

  • My personal efforts include meditation, being in nature, gardening – especially growing my own food organically and in harmony with the Earth.
  • Writing this blog and many other articles, writing another blog bringing awareness around living an Alternative Lifestyle to the one being pushed to us by media and business interests which don’t have my best interests at heart.
  • Learning Yoga,
  • Doing one unnecessary, unexpected act of kindness for someone each and every day,

It’s not always easy, I sometimes forget who I really am and begin the slide down into helplessness and fear. But I am surrounded by resources and sources of inspiration, hope and love are sitting on my bookcase waiting to inspire me, they are on the end of the telephone listening with Love to my voice and they are held in the hearts of many of the people who surround me if I only reach out and connect with them.

I reach out to you with Love, Kindness, Gratitude and Hope as an antidote to our current world situation. Cultivate these seeds of companionship as you would a precious plant and then share them with all you encounter.

Conscious Awareness: The Power Of “What Is”

Many years ago I used to get a bit angry at this concept.

“Just Accept”…sounded to me like – just be a victim!

Since then however, I’ve realised that almost the exact opposite is true. Being able to accept “What Is” for what it is can be a very empowering thing.

Acceptance: This tool or gift is closely related to Patience but it has more to do with the energy of the allowing part of patience and our wish that our vision for ourselves manifest just as we wish, if that is for the Highest Good of ourselves and all those involved.

When you think about acceptance in terms of allowing or allowingness… which is probably not a real word but is a real concept and a useful tool… then you can begin to really engage with your life in a totally new way. You don’t try to change people because you know that (1) you can only change yourself and (2) they are absolutely perfectly them, just the way they are. You don’t try to manipulate things because you really understand that everything is perfect, will be exactly what it is because that is all that it can be right now.

This doesn’t mean that you stop growing and evolving. It doesn’t mean that you don’t set goals and apply your wisdom to achieving them, it means that you don’t get stressed out when things go a little uncertainly, or the ‘wrong’ way, or stop and start, or don’t look like you thought they would. You just watch and learn, adapt and reconsider, revise and review in light of ‘what is”.

  • This level of acceptance allows us to wait for the perfect delivery of our vision.
  • This level of acceptance allows us to see that there may be a different way for us to receive our desired outcome and to recognise that there is a bigger picture in operation in the Universe.
  • This level of acceptance allows us to remain open and loving and flexible in the face of delay, of changed plans, of apparent failure and to look for the lessons, the signposts and the treasures hidden in every event of our lives.

This aspect of Patience has been the hardest for me to learn and accept. I still forget it from time to time, but when I remember to remember it, the taste is as sweet as the first time I realised I had forgotten it.

Many blessings to all.

Conscious Awareness: All In Good Time…Patience

I used to hate this saying, this word Patience.

Impatient, bouncing from one thing to the next, moving on, moving up, moving down… always moving and never staying still long enough to see my efforts, my dreams bear fruit. This is something I have had to learn throughout my life and I see it as a very common theme among many people all through their lives.

  • Our impatience can lead us to abandon a particular path or course of action before it has had the opportunity to deliver it’s gifts to us.
  • Our impatience can cause us to be blind to the signs and the opportunities before us that would have led us to that which we have been working towards.
  • Our impatience can rob us of some incredible experiences and so it is important to understand that all things come in perfect timing, perfect place and in perfect ways.

Learning Patience and Allowingness are two important steps on the path to self mastery. Two interesting and closely connected words these – Patience and Allowingness.

Actually, the spell checker tells me that allowingness isn’t actually a word – it won’t allow me to use it without yelling at me. Yet, allowingness is an important concept and deserves to be a word in my book and given that this is my book (Blog)… it’s now a word.

How do you cultivate patience and allowingness in your life?

For me things like meditation, my Reiki practice, my Journal and my vision board/treasure map, my community of friends and fellow conscious creators, all help to keep me clear on what it is I am aiming to create and why.

  • This keeps my perspective on the bigger picture and that helps me weather the storms and roadblocks along the path.
  • These things also help me to connect with my intuition, strengthen my connection to higher consciousness and uncover the patterns and inspirations that come to me which may inform my next actions, give me new ideas and let me know that what I am actually creating and experiencing may not look like I imagined but are actually the manifestation of my desires in another form.
  • The Universe has a bigger perspective and sometimes the time for what we want will be earlier or later than we first imagined.

It’s important to continue your life and your work as you wait patiently for your vision to materialise. It’s important to realise that sitting around and waiting for someone or something to bring your vision to you is a fast track to despondency and failure.

The idea, the clarity, the vision is merely the message to the subtle and no so subtle energies of the universe – a bit like a email to order a book or a movie. It doesn’t just magically appear, there are many actions to take, decisions to make and solutions to be found and the main person to bring about your vision will be you.

Don’t worry, the connections will appear, the resources will be found if you continue to follow the pathway and take notice of the signposts and the light ahead. Allow yourself to be drawn into the energetic mix you are creating with your intentions and vision and allow it to manifest in the most perfect way, in the perfect time for the greatest good.

How wonderful.

Conscious Awareness: Holding The Vision

When we begin working with the powerful tools of the mind, we can quickly become impatient to see our desires manifest into our reality.

You know how it feels to have created a real vision for yourself in an important area of your life. It may be that you are looking for a new job or career, or you wish to create a new home or relationship. You’ve put in the effort, clarified what it is you desire and uncovered all the intentions and motivations around it. You have found your place of peace with this vision, created your affirmations and visualisations and then…. life gets in the way.

This time between our awakening to conscious awareness and the power of our mind and the manifestation of our hopes, dreams and desires into our lives, can be fertile ground for more personal growth and development.

If we get this important time ‘wrong’, that is if we allow our impatience, our ego and our fears and doubts to get in the way, then we will stand between what is our stated intention and it’s manifestation into reality.

We really need to get out of our own way at this incredibly creative time.

Conscious Awareness: 3 Steps To Realising Intentions

While I was researching for this topic I wrote an article on EzineArticles.com and while I was checking out what other people were saying on the topic I came across this one by Jason Mannino. In this Article which he calls “3 Steps To Realizing Intentions” he gets to the very point I was making about integrating your Intentions into your Affirmations and Goal Setting processes.

I’ve re-printed Jason’s article below so you too get the benefit of his knowledge. I hope you enjoy it.

3 Steps To Realizing Intentions

When you put your attention on what is not working in your life guess what you get? Right, you get more of what is not working. Consider that worrying or obsessing on the negative is praying for the unwanted. Notice how often a person who has a flat tire responds negatively in a way that sets the tone of their entire day or longer. Usually they will end the day saying “Wow, I had such a bad day! First I had a flat tire! Then an important meeting I scheduled got canceled! Then my lunch got served burnt!” You get the point. If you don’t catch yourself focusing on the negative it spirals into more negative. There are some simple ways for you to manage these thoughts and shift your attention from what is not working to what is working or to what you intend.

1. Gratitude

Take an inventory of what you have to be grateful for in your life. Feeling gratitude will immediately shift your energy. Also, a simple expression of gratitude will shift your perception and you will begin to see great things in your life that you did not even know were there. You don’t always see what is in front of you when your attention is on what is not working. The flat tire example above could go like this, “I appreciate the flat tire. I have been moving way too fast lately. I rushed out of the house this morning without even saying goodbye to the kids. I realize that this flat tire is a message for me to slow down and I am grateful for that.” The remainder of the day could become quite positive from this perspective.

2. Intention

Setting a clear intention will shift your focus from what’s not working to what you intend to create. I reiterate, what you put your attention on expands. It’s the old adage “be careful what you wish for.” When you place your consciousness on what you want to create, you move in the direction of realizing your desires. For instance, perhaps you are experiencing fear or insecurity regarding a project you are working on. Simply stating the intention “I intend to complete this project beyond what I can imagine as successful!” will automatically take energy away from the fear and insecurity and put a positive focus on the success of the project. You’re initial experience upon stating the intention may be subtle. However, if you keep your focus on it and allow yourself to drop into the feeling nature of the intention you will experience a shift. The key with stating an intention is to be sure that the words you use are meaningful to you.

3. As If

When you have clarified your intention and claimed it for yourself take some action “as if” your desire has been realized. This will support you in shifting into the belief on a sub-conscious level. For instance, if your intention is to buy a home sometime in the near future start going to open houses. Engaging in the exercise will get your consciousness behind the intention. If your intention is to have a new car nine months from now start test-driving.

Allowing yourself to be grateful for whatever shows up in your reality will support you in realizing that some of what you desire has already manifested. In addition, by setting a clear intention and acting as if your desires are already realized you align your subconscious with your intention, which is imbued with the creative energy of spirit. When you do this with focus your desires will be realized. Spirit through mind equals matter. Start test-driving the life you want to create and soon enough the “test” will fall away and you will be living the life you want!

Conscious Awareness: Intention to Affirmation to Manifestation

To build your Intention into your Affirmation is quite easy, it’s a subtle shift in your thinking that can make a powerful difference to understanding why something does or doesn’t manifest into your physical reality. We can put a lot of energy into visualisation (see previous posts on that topic), we can word our affirmations in just the right way but if we don’t have clarity on our intention, the Why, then it just doesn’t have the same oomph and results can be less than pleasing.

So let’s take a quick look at an example… a simple one.

Your affirmation may have read “I am compassionate and kind to all who cross my path today” which is a lovely idea.

Now your intention may be that you wish to cultivate compassion and kindness in your life because you have found yourself developing habits of being a bit judgmental or perhaps you have found yourself acting in ways that were unkind or hurtful.

To ensure that your new Intention, to cultivate kindness and compassion in your life, is clearly attached to your Affirmation you might write it like this:

I Intend that I act with compassion and kindness to all who cross my path today in harmony with the Highest Good of all concerned

  • Now you have clearly stated what you Intend.
  • You have Affirmed your Intention and
  • You have shown that you understand that there is a much bigger picture at play than what you can see from where you stand. Many people can only see the world from what they think is for their own greatest good.
  • You have now shown that you are a Conscious Being and are prepared to step forward and play the game of life at a much higher level.

Using this simple example as a guide, take a look at the Affirmations you may already be working with on a daily basis. See if they really reflect your deepest Intentions for yourself and for others and build that Intention into your Affirmations, so that you can create a very clear message to the Universal Energy of who you are, what you Intend and how you are willing to allow it to manifest.

Using Affirmations and Intentions in this way helps you to expand the vision you hold of what is possible in your life and in the world at large.

This expands your Awareness of what is possible for you, of what is for the Highest Good and helps you to create a greater vision.

This is Conscious Awareness in Action.
